Hill Ward Henderson is pleased to announce that attorney Tori C. Simmons has been appointed as chair of Bay Area Legal Services’ Board of Directors.
Bay Area Legal Services is a regional, nonprofit public interest law firm that aims to build pathways to justice through high-quality legal services, education, and community partnerships. They provide the highest quality legal counsel by assisting individuals and nonprofit groups who have limited access to legal services, resolving legal problems for their clients, and by preserving the independence, hope, and dignity of those they serve.
Simmons devotes a significant amount of time to pro bono service, representing Tampa residents in civil rights, family law, guardian advocacy, and domestic violence matters. She has been involved with Bay Area Legal in many ways, serving on both the Audit & Finance Committee and Sustaining Law Firm Committee. She is also a strong advocate of pro bono efforts, serving as co-chair of the 13th Circuit Pro Bono Awards Committee.
“For decades, Bay Area Legal Services has been a leader among legal aid organizations. Access to legal services is critical for our community, and I am thankful for the opportunity to continue to serve,” Simmons said.
Simmons’ practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, and she represents clients in a variety of business disputes and class action litigation in state and federal court. In addition to her general commercial litigation practice, she represents individuals and firms in professional liability matters.
