Robert A. Shimberg, a Shareholder in Hill Ward Henderson’s Litigation Group, was recently elected Chair of the Board of Directors for Metropolitan Ministries, Inc. The non-profit’s mission is to care for the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless in Tampa Bay. Numerous studies document that a lack of affordable housing, unemployment, limited life skills, domestic violence, health care needs, addiction, insufficient education, all threaten stability and contribute to hardship of many. At Metropolitan Ministries, for 42 years, they have provided assistance to help others achieve self-sufficiency, serving families in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Polk Counties.
“At Metropolitan Ministries we strive to have our programs known for their compassion and innovation, showing the power of love in healing broken lives,” said Attorney Robert A. Shimberg. “As Chair of Metropolitan Ministries, I will work hard to ensure our mission is carried out through all of our efforts to help others.”
Mr. Shimberg’s primary practice areas include commercial litigation, corporate compliance and governmental relations. He was formerly a prosecutor with the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office. In addition to serving as Chair of Metropolitan Ministries, he is active in many additional community concerns, including Tampa Housing Authority and MoreHealth, a health education and safety program for children.
