Hill Ward Henderson shareholder, Shane T. Costello, recently attained board certification by The Florida Bar in Business Litigation. Board certification is the highest level of evaluation by The Florida Bar of competency and experience within the practice of business/commercial litigation, with only 240 attorneys in the state of Florida holding a certification in Business Litigation. Board certification is synonymous with the terms ‘specialist’ and ‘expert’ because of its high standards for experience and professionalism, recognizing the attorney’s special knowledge, skills and proficiency, as well as character, ethics, and reputation in practice. To attain Business Litigation board certification, an attorney must have substantial and active participation in business litigation, including handling a minimum of 25 contested business litigation matters, 8 non-jury trials or evidentiary hearings, and 1 jury trial in the preceding 5 years, and the attorney is evaluated based upon peer and judicial review and an extensive written examination.
Costello is a shareholder in the firm's Real Property Litigation and Commercial Litigation groups. His practice focuses on litigation involving real estate and land use issues, complex commercial matters, and trust and estate disputes.
