Hill Ward Henderson attorney Kendra M. Lyman recently attained board certification by The Florida Bar in Construction Law. Board certification is the highest level of evaluation by The Florida Bar of competency and experience within the practice of construction, with less than 500 attorneys in the state of Florida holding a certification in Construction Law. Board certification is synonymous with the terms ‘specialist’ and ‘expert’ because of its high standards for experience and professionalism, recognizing the attorney’s special knowledge, skills, and proficiency, as well as character, ethics, and reputation. To attain Construction Law board certification, an attorney must undergo a rigorous application process including a peer review evaluation, demonstration of substantial involvement in the specialty of construction law and at least 45 hours of approved construction law certification continuing legal education in the three years immediately preceding application, and must then pass an extensive written examination.
Lyman is an associate in the firm's Construction group, focusing exclusively on a wide array of construction law matters, including construction and design claims, construction contracting, project management, insurance and surety issues, and construction disputes.
