Hill Ward Henderson was pleased to sponsor the world premiere of Pharmboy, written and directed by Larry Feeney, a Pasco-based filmmaker. This film is the result of Feeney’s “Save a City, Make a Movie” project to produce a feature film for $36,000 that would be written, cast, shot, edited and screened entirely in and around Pasco County. Pharmboy is about a 16 year-old boy who was born addicted to prescription medications. As the young boy fights his way through life, he finds help from his friends and teachers, one of which becomes his mentor and confidant.
Pharmboy’s world premiere took place during The Gasparilla International Film Festival (GIFF). First launched in the summer of 2006, GIFF has grown into an entertaining and educational year-round entity in Tampa Bay. Its mission is to provide year-long support for film screening, production and education throughout the Tampa Bay region. Rachel M. Feinman, an Associate with the firm, serves as the Festival’s Vice President.
