Hill Ward Henderson, is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the Museum of Science & Industry’s 12th Annual National Hispanic Scientist of the Year Award on October 27. Hill Ward Henderson recognizes the tremendous growth of the Hispanic community and the importance of having Hispanic role models to inspire young Hispanic students to stay in school and to realize their dreams. The proceeds from the event go to sponsor Hispanic boys and girls to participate in MOSI’s Youth Enriched by Science program, known as the “YES! Team.”
The 2012 Hispanic Scientist of the Year is Nora D. Volkow, M.D., the Director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse at the National Institutes of Health. Her research has been instrumental in demonstrating that drug addiction is a disease of the human brain. Hill Ward Henderson is pleased to sponsor the event honoring Dr. Volkow, a scientist who through her work helps to promote a greater public understanding of science and encourages Hispanic youths’ interests in science.
