Hill Ward Henderson Shareholder, Benjamin H. Hill, IV, was sworn in as President of the Hillsborough County Bar Association (HCBA) on June 5 at the Chester H. Ferguson Law Center. The HCBA is a nonprofit professional member association that caters to the legal community throughout the Tampa Bay area. The HCBA is one of the most active voluntary bar associations in the nation with its nearly 4,000 members known for their dedication and service to the community. Its mission is to inspire and promote respect for the law and the justice system through service to the profession and to the community.
Mr. Hill is a part of Hill Ward Henderson’s Litigation Group where his practice involves the defense of products liability and complex mass tort claims, including the defense of a major tobacco corporation in numerous smoking and health cases. His practice also involves the representation and defense of attorneys and their law firms in legal malpractice actions. Mr. Hill has experience in the representation of property owners in a variety of matters including eminent domain and inverse condemnation claims, and ad valorem tax assessment challenges.
Mr. Hill also serves on the Executive Council of the HCBA’s Trial and Litigation Section and the Board of Directors of the Hillsborough County Bar Foundation. He is a past President of the HCBA’s Young Lawyers Division and a past recipient of the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award. In addition to his involvement with the HCBA, Mr. Hill remains active in leadership roles within the Tort, Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) of the American Bar Association. He is a graduate of the TIPS Leadership Academy, has chaired the TIPS Task Force on Outreach to Young Lawyers, and serves on the Products Liability and Trial Techniques Committees. He serves on the Board of Overseers of Stetson University College of Law. He is a recipient of the Stetson Lawyers Association's Outstanding Alumni Representative Award.
