Hill Ward Henderson is pleased to announce the reappointment of Shareholder Katherine E. “Katie” Cole to the St. Petersburg College District Board of Trustees. Governor Rick Scott first appointed Cole to fill a vacant seat earlier this year. St. Petersburg College Board of Trustee members are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Florida Senate.
Ms. Cole is part of the firm’s Land Use and Real Estate Groups. Her practice primarily involves representing real estate owners in the development of commercial projects and residential subdivisions. Cole serves clients from the firm’s Clearwater office. She frequently handles local government site plan approvals, drafting development agreements, negotiating resolutions for Code Enforcement cases, environmental permitting at the local and state level, as well as many other land use issues.
Active in the business community, Cole is the Chair-Elect for the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce and is a past member of the City of Clearwater Business Task Force. She is also a former member of the Charter Review Committees for both the City of Clearwater and Pinellas County. Active in the community, Cole currently serves on the Board of Directors for Morton Plant Mease Hospital. She served as the 2013 Co-Chair of the Omelette Party Committee, a fundraising event for ARC of Tampa Bay, a Pinellas organization whose mission is to provide services and programs to developmentally challenged individuals and she and her husband continue their service on the committee.
