Hill Ward Henderson is proud to announce that Courtney Burroughs and Quinn Cockrell have been elected to serve as Committee Chairs for the Young Lawyers Division of the Hillsborough County Bar Association.
Burroughs has been selected to serve as Chair of the Pro Bono Committee. The Pro Bono Committee serves to provide the Hillsborough County area with access to obtain justice for poor and low-income residents. The Committee is responsible for coordinating, staffing, and providing a liaison for pro bono projects and activities, as well as encouraging member involvement with pro bono activities.
Burroughs’ practice primarily involves defending product manufacturers and companies against claims for personal injuries, wrongful death, premises liability, and other tort claims. She has defended clients in trucking, automotive, consumer products, power tool, and industrial accident liability cases throughout Florida. She has also defended hotel chains, retail stores, and residential complexes in premise liability and negligent security claims.
Cockrell has been appointed to serve as Chair of the Grants, Awards, and Bylaws Committee. The Committee is responsible for preparing annual grant applications that partially fund the Division’s events, as well as award applications that recognize members of the legal community. The Committee periodically reviews the bylaws and makes recommendations for changes to the Board of Directors. The Committee also executes other special projects, as directed by the Board of Directors, which ensures the long-term success of the Division.
Cockrell's practice primarily focuses on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, private equity, as well as, general corporate advice.
