Shane T. Costello, attorney at Hill Ward Henderson, was recently elected to the Board for the South Tampa YMCA. The nonprofit organization’s mission is centered around making sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
Mr. Costello is an Associate in the firm's Real Property Litigation and Commercial Litigation groups. His practice focuses on litigation involving real estate and land use issues, complex commercial matters, and trust and estate disputes. Costello’s experience includes acting as lead trial counsel on multiple bench and jury trials in Florida state courts. Costello was listed as a Florida Trend Legal Elite “Up and Comer” in 2015 and 2016, and a Florida Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in 2016.
Active in his profession, Mr. Costello is Vice Chair of the Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Committee for the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division. He is also involved with the Litigation Committee for the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division as well as the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section and Young Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar, and is an active member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association serving on the Diversity Committee.
Costello enjoys contributing his services to the community. He serves as an attorney ad litem for Crossroads for Florida Kids, representing children in dependency proceedings and providing counsel for the civil legal needs of children in delinquency. He also serves as a volunteer attorney for Bay Area Legal Services, providing pro bono civil legal services to low-income, qualified individuals in the Tampa Bay area. Additionally, Costello is the Director of Community Service Projects for the Georgetown University Alumni Club of Tampa Bay, providing general service to the local community.
