Hill Ward Henderson is proud to announce that shareholder J. Logan Murphy was appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis to serve as judge on the Hillsborough County Court. Murphy was appointed on May 28, 2021 to fill the judicial vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Artemeus McNeil.
Murphy has been a shareholder at Hill Ward Henderson since 2019, and he has been with the firm since 2009. Though he focuses on appeals and high-value complex litigation, Murphy’s litigation experience is broad, representing individuals, businesses, law firms, and professionals in a wide variety of industries and in just about every type of tort, contract, and insurance claim. He practices regularly in federal court, as both lead and local counsel, drawing on his experience as a law clerk to Judge James D. Whittemore of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
In addition to his litigation practice, Murphy has been committed to serving the legal profession. In 2020, he led the world’s largest young lawyer organization as chair of the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, where he focused on priorities including mental health and wellness in the legal profession, law school debt and finance, innovation, and the future of the practice of law.
