Hill Ward Henderson is pleased to announce that founding shareholders, Thomas N. Henderson, III and Benjamin H. Hill, III continue to be honored in Florida Trend’s prestigious “2023 Florida Legal Elite Hall of Fame” having been continuously recognized with this designation since the Hall of Fame was established in 2009. The Hall of Fame honors long-term legal career excellence and counts less than 1% percent of the active Florida Bar members who practice in the State of Florida among its ranks. Attorneys honored in the Hall of Fame have been consistently ranked in the top tier in Legal Elite voting over many years.
Henderson is vice-chairman of the Firm, and his active practice includes all facets of real property law with special focus on land acquisition and development, improved property purchase and sales transactions, finance, title insurance, survey, and entitlement matters. Henderson has had the privilege of representing many of the nation's largest homebuilders, apartment developers, and commercial developers in connection with their Florida operations and has been instrumental in the development of residential communities, retail and industrial centers, and office complexes throughout Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, and Manatee Counties. He is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and the American College of Mortgage Attorneys.
Hill is chairman of the Firm. His practice is primarily focused in the areas of complex litigation including professional liability, products liability, and general commercial matters, and he has represented many of the nation’s largest law firms and many public companies in litigation in Florida.
Hill has served as president of The Florida Bar, president of the Young Lawyers Division of The Florida Bar, and president of the Hillsborough County Bar Association. A Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the International Society of Barristers, he has served as chair of the Federal Judicial Nominating Commission for the State of Florida and as chair of the Judicial Nominating Commission for Hillsborough County. Active in the American Bar Association, he served as chair of the ABA Standing Committee on The Federal Judiciary, was in the House of Delegates (1990-2011), was a member of the executive committee of the ABA’s Board of Directors, Chair of the Conference of State Delegates, and for three years chaired the Standing Committee on Lawyers’ Professional Liability. In Florida, Hill has represented both the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate in litigation matters and was special counsel to former Florida Governor, The Honorable Bob Graham.
