Ethen Shapiro Elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates

Hill Ward Henderson is pleased to announce that attorney Ethen Shapiro has been elected to membership to the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).

Established in 1958, ABOTA is an invitation-only organization of lawyers and judges who defend the civil justice system in the United States. Members must have at least five years of active experience as trial lawyers, have tried at least seven civil jury trials to conclusion and possess additional litigation experience. ABOTA’s mission is to preserve the right to a trial by jury, as guaranteed by the Seventh Amendment of the Constitution. ABOTA membership consists of more than 7,300 plaintiff and defense lawyers and judges across 95 chapters in all 50 states and in the District of Columbia. 

Shapiro’s practice focuses on the defense of medical malpractice, hospital liability, long-term care facilities, professional liability, premises liability, and handling a diverse array of catastrophic personal injury claims. He has successfully represented doctors and health care systems, multinational corporations and pharmaceutical companies at the local, state and national levels.

Shapiro has been active in professional activities, including service as program chair, faculty member and invited speaker with the DRI’s Medical Liability and Healthcare Law Committee. He has received several professional accolades including being listed as a leading lawyer in Chambers USA for Medical Malpractice as well as recognition in Florida Super Lawyers, Florida Trend’s Legal Elite, and The Best Lawyers in America®.
