Hill Ward Henderson is pleased to announce that attorney Cory J. Person has been named Diversity and Inclusion Shareholder. This is a new role for the firm in an effort to further its strategic planning surrounding diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Person will lead the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee and will serve as a liaison in the community. The firm is committed to furthering diversity, inclusion and racial equality for our lawyers, to partnering with minority-owned businesses to provide them with an opportunity to network with the legal community, and to connecting our lawyers with pro bono work centered on racial equality issues.
Person is a shareholder at Hill Ward Henderson, practicing in the firm’s Litigation and Employment Law groups. His practice is primarily focused on the defense of products liability, premises liability, negligent security, general negligence and complex tort claims. Person also has extensive experience representing employers in litigation arising out of discrimination, harassment and non-competition agreements.
Person is active in both professional and Bar-related organizations. He currently serves as a President-Elect of the Hillsborough County Bar Association and is a two-term past president of the George Edgecomb Bar Association. Active in the community, Person serves as a Board Member for the Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation, member of the Bay Area Legal Services Development Council, and a Board Member to the City of Tampa Civil Service Board. Prior to law school, Person served as an enlisted non-commissioned officer in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps.
