Hill Ward Henderson is proud to announce that associate Allison M. Stevenson has been appointed Co-Chair of the National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL) Advocacy Committee.
NAWL’s Advocacy Committee is responsible for reviewing public policy matters of interest to NAWL members and recommends appropriate action for the Board's consideration. Examples of recent advocacy initiatives include NAWL's support of certification and publication of the Equal Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution through a Board resolution, webinar programming, and amicus support.
NAWL’s mission is to provide leadership, a collective voice, and essential resources to advance women in the legal profession and advocate for the equality of women under the law. Since 1899, NAWL has been empowering women in the legal profession, cultivating a diverse membership dedicated to equality, mutual support, and collective success.
Stevenson is an associate in the firm's litigation group. Her practice primarily involves representing a major tobacco company in smoking and health litigation. Her academic research is devoted to issues involving pay equality and workplace diversity. She is a member of NAWL’s Pay Equity Task Force and Advocacy Committee, and has published and contributed to works centered on reducing the disparity in pay and mentorship among genders and ethnicities in a wide array of professions.
