Hill Ward Henderson is pleased to be the presenting sponsor for the Sixth Annual Re-Purposed Doodad Sculpture Competition. The Doodad Competition Exhibit will open at the Tampa Firefighters Museum on April 14 and will be available for viewing through April 27.  The award reception, which is open to the public, will be on April 27. Awards will be given by grade level (elementary, middle and high), in the categories of Best Overall, Best Tampa History, Best U.S. History and Best Firefighters as Superheroes.

The Doodad Competition challenges all K through 12 students in Hillsborough County to create three dimensional sculptures that repurpose common household objects.  For the 2016-2017 school year, each sculpture must include at least one Campaign Sign.

The students have the entire school year to complete their projects. Students work individually or in groups, reinforcing problem solving and collaboration skills. Entry deadline for the exhibition is April 5. Images of the past sculptures are available at http://doodadoftampa.org.
